PLANNED IMPROVEMENT FOR THE SCHOOL AND DISTRICT

 

This is the final section of the report card in which your school and district provide information below on areas of success and areas for planned improvement based on your school’s improvement plan.

AREAS OF SUCCESS:

 

Every staff member was trained in the four square writing method.

 

Grade level teachers met bi-monthly to communicate strategies, share reactions and set pacing for The Every Day Math Series.

 

Teachers provided daily math review activities of the basic math facts.  A teacher developed/commercially developed test was used for assessment.

 

Fifth Grade Teachers conducted data organization and collection activities with their students and the results were displayed in the form of pie, line, bar and pictograph.

 

A Standard Aligned Curriculum Team was formed to align the writing curriculum, make writing prompts consistent and to add evaluation rubrics.

 

A Math Club was formed to challenge students with math thinking skills through games.

 

AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT:

 

To establish local curriculum based measurements in reading, math and writing for the students in grades 1-3.

 

To increase the meets and exceeds performance levels on the ISAT Reading Test by 1-3%.

 

To increase the meets and exceeds performance levels on the ISAT Mathematics Test by 1-3%.

 

All teachers will utilize the four square writing method and writing samples will be turned in to the principal each quarter.
