From the Principal’s Desk...

 Dear Parents,

The 2009-2010 school year is off to a great start! The kids and teachers are excited to be back, and I have enjoyed getting to know your children's names and faces. We truly have a great bunch of kids here at Lincoln, and I am excited for a great school year!

Thanks to all who attended Parent Night. We are looking forward to working with all of you to make this year a success for your child. As the year gets started, I would like to remind you that our major goal this year is reading. We are working hard to ensure that your child receives more time reading at their reading level here at school. Reading is like any other skill-- the more we practice, the better we become! Please encourage your child to read at home, and don't hesitate to ask him or her questions about what he or she is reading! Showing that you are interested in their reading is vital to helping them realize how important it is.

Another exciting program we have going on here at Lincoln is PBIS. The children have spent time over the last few weeks learning about how to behave in the different settings around Lincoln School, and we are very proud of their behavior so far. We are very pleased to have awarded several PAWS so far this year, and the children are really enjoying the Friday prize drawings! Please ask your child about their behavior at school, and consider carrying over these expectations at home. Consistency is KEY!
