School Dress Code
One way in which students reflect their attitude toward school is in their dress. Clothing that is inappropriate or disruptive detracts from the learning process. Students who wear unacceptable clothing will be required to call home and get a change of clothes or..may be required to wear their PE uniform if accommodations cannot be secured from home. The appropriateness of clothing will be judged by the school principal or his designee. The following guidelines will apply to all school activities.
The following types of clothing will not be permitted, but not limited to:
Any clothing which shows undergarments.
Spaghetti straps, tank tops, halter tops or backless tops
Tops that expose most of the shoulder or chest area
Short skirts or shorts – Both skirts/shorts must extend past the fingers when your arms are at your sides.
Bare midriff tops – shirts must extend to the bottom of the belt loop area of the pants. Inappropriate t-shirts. Examples would include shirts that contain advertisements for liquor, drugs or tobacco, obscene or suggestive sayings or pictures, and anything that might be “gang related.” Hats/head coverings are not to be worn within the building at any time.
Any accessory that is either attached to a chain or is, itself, a chain should not be worn.
Exemptions may be determined for specific events or causes as determined by the building Principal or his designee.
No coats or gloves may be worn in the classrooms during the school day, unless teacher gives permission.
Pants that have holes, rips or tears in the front, back and above the knees.
Sunglasses are not allowed during school hours, 8:30 – 3:13.
CÓDIGO DE VESTIRSE
Una manera en que los estudiantes demuestran su actitud hacia la escuela es como se visten. Ropa que queda inadecuada o que distrae, le resta valor al proceso de aprendizaje. Estudiantes que llevan ropa inaceptable se requerirán que llamen a casa y cambiarse de ropa o.. se requerirán que se vistan de su uniforme de PE. si no haya nadie en casa. Ropa apropiada será juzgada por el director o una persona designada. Las siguientes reglas se aplicarán a todas las actividades de la escuela:
Los siguientes tipos de ropa no se permitirán, pero no se limite a:
Toda la ropa que revele la ropa interior
Tirantes de “espagueti”, camiseta de estilo “tank”, cualquier tipo de blusa sin espalda.
Camisa o camiseta que expone la mayoría del área del hombro o pecho.
Las faldas o pantalones cortos tienen que extender más allá de los dedos cuando sus brazos están colgando a sus lados.
Camisas que exponen el estómago – camisas tienen que extender hasta el parte de abajo del cinturón. Camisetas inapropiadas. Ejemplos incluirían camisas que contienes comerciales de bebidas alcohólicas, drogas o tabaco, dichos indecentes o dibujos indecentes y cualquier cosa que puede estar relacionada con las pandillas. Nunca se puede llevar sombreros/gorras dentro de la escuela.
No se debe de llevar una cadena ni un accesorio atado a una cadena.
Pueden ser exenciones por situaciones específicas y estarán decididas por el director o la persona designada.
No se permiten las chaquetas ni los guantes en la clase durante el día de escuela, a no ser que el/la maestro/a dé permiso.
Pantalones que tienen agujeros o rasgones en la parte delantera, de espalda y por encima de las rodillas.
No se permiten los lentes de sol durante las horas de escuela, 8:30 – 3:13.

Rochelle School Volunteer Program (RSVP)
Volunteers are needed at RMS at various times. The district has adopted a policy where all volunteers will need to have a background check before working in the buildings. This does include chaperoning on field trips. If you plan on volunteering in any way please get you volunteer application completed and turned in to the district office. Applications are available at the school office.
El Programa Voluntario de las Escuelas Elementales de Rochelle (RSVP)
De vez en cuando se necesitan voluntarios en RMS. El distrito tiene la política en que todos los voluntarios necesitarán tener una investigación de su vida antes de trabajar en las escuelas. Esto sí incluye a los chaperones en las excursiones educativas. Si usted planea ser voluntario(-a) de cualquier manera, por favor complete el impreso de solicitud de voluntario y entréguelo a la oficina del distrito. Las solicitudes están disponibles en la oficina de la escuela.
