The 8th grade is raising awareness about human trafficking by selling t-shirts, sweatshirts, and bracelets. All money raised will be donated to the Polaris Project, an organization that is helping bring global awareness to modern slavery while at the same time, Polaris is working actively to identify and rescue victims.

Today several RMS students visited Lincoln school and had the opportunity to work with and read to younger students. There were lots of smiles and activities. We are looking forward to our next visit.

In honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, Rochelle Middle School had a visit from the Ballet Folklorico Nueva Generacion from RTHS. This group has been established at RTHS for three years, has 11 members and is led by Lizbeth Garcia. Students were mesmerized by their dances and teachers loved seeing former students! The performance included dances from the State of Jalisco, as well as dances from the state of Sinaloa. Thank you, Ballet Folklorico Nueva Generacion for sharing your wonderful dances and heritage with us!

Almost 80 family members showed up to our Dual Language Family Alliance meeting at Lincoln today. Thanks to Mrs. Canfield and Mrs. Lumzy, along with all our teacher and staff, for sharing what is happening our Dual Language programming. We hope to see more parents at our next meeting!
