Our Dual 8th Graders completed their study of bilingual authors by writing their own bilingual picture books. We wrapped up the unit with a trip to May School to read our books to the Dual Preschoolers! We made special memories with our oldest and youngest students enjoying literacy in the same room. --- Nuestros alumnos de 8.º grado del programa dual completaron su estudio sobre autores bilingües escribiendo sus propios libros ilustrados bilingües. ¡Concluimos la unidad con una visita a la escuela May para leer nuestros libros a los alumnos de preescolar del programa dual! Creamos recuerdos especiales con nuestros alumnos más mayores y más pequeños disfrutando de la lectura en la misma sala.

8th Graders enjoyed learning about a large variety of career paths at today's field trip to Sauk Valley Community College's Pathway Playground event.

Students at RMS receive positive referrals from teachers and staff for going above and beyond, demonstrating kindness, and helping to create a positive school environment. Names of students who receive positive referrals are then put into a weekly drawing for an RMS t-shirt. This week's winners are: Samara Gray (6th) Charli DeShazo (7th) and Jaelyn Gonzales (8th)

National Bullying Prevention Month

October is National Bullying Prevention Month!
Throughout the month, Rochelle Middle School students will take part in lessons and discussions that promote kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.

RMS will also join in Unity Week, a time to celebrate kindness while standing together to prevent bullying. To show our school spirit, we’ll be hosting daily dress-up/spirit days throughout the week.
We encourage everyone to participate and spread positivity!

Each month, staff members at Rochelle Middle School receive R's to recognize their efforts in going above and beyond for our students, staff, and school community. For the month of September, we are proud to highlight the following individuqlw qnd teams who make RMS a better place every day: Our Secretaries, Mrs. Estock and Mrs. Dalen who are always a warm, welcoming presence as you enter the building. Our counselors, Mrs. Underwood and Mrs. Bruhn who tackle scheduling challenges and support our students emotional needs. Our new teacher mentor supervisor, Ms. Prestegaard, for her mentorship, organization, and guidance with new teachers. Our custodians, Mr. Blevins, Ms. Meador, and Mr. Crawford, for their hard work in preparing the building over the summer and maintaining a clean, safe environment. Thank you to all of our RMS staff for your continued commitment to excellence and teamwork! ‐------------------------------------- Cada mes, el personal de la Escuela Intermedia Rochelle recibe una R en reconocimiento a su esfuerzo por superarse a sí mismo para nuestros estudiantes, personal y comunidad escolar.
