Rochelle Township High School is proud to announce that 18 members of the Class of 2026 have been named Illinois State Scholars by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC). This prestigious recognition is awarded to approximately the top ten percent of high school seniors in Illinois and is based on ISAC’s statewide formula, which uses a combination of ACT performance and six semesters of GPA.

Winter One Acts - RTHS Auditorium
Meet the Hubs tomorrow night!
Seniors Christian and Laila, members of Educators Rising, (just one of the many RTHS clubs and organizations getting involved in the Dodging Hunger Initiative) spent some time visiting 5th hour study halls today to spread a little Thanksgiving spirit, and the word about our upcoming DODGING HUNGER FOOD DRIVE and DODGEBALL TOURNAMENT!
These two events are all about giving back ! Every donation will help stock the shelves of the brand new RTHS Hub Cupboard (pantry) and support the Rochelle Christian Food Pantry.
The Food Drive runs the week of November 17th, and our Dodging Hunger Dodgeball Tournament will take place on Monday, November 24th at 6 PM.
We invite the public to join the fun, cheer on the teams, and help fight hunger in our community. Admission is a free-will donation or a non-perishable food item.....and rumor has it, there’s bound to be a turkey sighting or two! 🦃

RTHS would like to congratulate Hailey Newlun, a senior at RTHS, on being named the Rotary Student of the Month for September 2025.
Hailey has made a remarkable impact through her volunteerism, dedicating an impressive 449 hours to Silver Service Volunteer work throughout her high school years. This achievement has earned her the distinguished honor of wearing the Silver Cord at graduation.
Her volunteer contributions are extensive and varied. Her efforts span a wide range of activities, including assisting with various tasks at the Creston Library and supporting events such as Art in the Park, the Creston Fire Department Pancake Breakfast, and Creston Booster Days—where she sold tickets, served food, and helped children create bracelets. She has also volunteered at RMS and Creston concession stands, assisted with cleaning the Creston Opera House, helped at the RTHS Art Camp, and provided childcare at the Creston Methodist Church.
Hailey is known for her willingness to help others—babysitting, assisting neighbors and friends with chores, and supporting teachers in their classrooms. She has also served as a library monitor during her study halls at RTHS.
Hailey plans to pursue a career in speech pathology and is currently gaining valuable experience by working alongside the speech pathologist at Lincoln School as part of her work-based learning. She is also an active member of the RTHS chapter of Educators Rising, an organization that prepares future educators.

Northern lights over RTHS last night on 11/11/25
RTHS celebrated Veterans Day with its annual breakfast and all-school assembly. Thank you to Bob Chadwick and Chuck Roberts for speaking to our students.
RTHS Students! Grab some friends and join us to help Dodge Hunger at our first annual Dodging Hunger Dodgeball Tournament. See Mrs. Harvey or Mrs. Bonnell in the Counseling Center for more info. All proceeds from this event will go to stocking the shelves of our newly created food pantry here at RTHS and the Rochelle Christian Food Pantry. The deadline to register is 11/19, so get your team together and have some fun!

🕜The fall cycle will be open to applicants until January 1st. It includes the traditional Howard D. Colman Scholarship Program, the renewable Fehr Graham Scholarship, and the Gary S. Wilmer/RAMI Scholarship for music (previously part of the winter application). This is a universal application and will match applicants to any of the three scholarships they meet the criteria for. Students can head to our website ( https://www.cfnil.org/scholarships ) to learn more and click ‘Apply for a Scholarship’ to create their portal account and start their application. Her service spans a wide range of community efforts, including helping at the St. Paul concession stand, serving as a childcare provider and VBS leader at her church, unloading food for the Northern Illinois Food Bank truck, supporting Operation Christmas Child, volunteering at the Rochelle Christian Food Pantry, working the Little League concession stand, assisting at swim meets, and coaching and assisting with REC and Kids volleyball camps. She has also volunteered for Make a Difference Day, served as a traffic director for the Annual Turkey Trot, and participated in numerous other local events.
In addition to the above volunteer experiences, Rylie has contributed 40 hours of service through Adventures in Missions. She has also been actively involved in the Interact Club, competed as a varsity athlete on the RTHS Volleyball team, served as the manager for the RTHS baseball team for the past two years and volunteers during her study hall to be a main office monitor.
Rylie’s future plans include pursuing a career in Radiology.

On Friday, the Midnight Voices traveled to Illinois State University to perform and participate in workshops with ISU’s distinguished voice faculty. It was a valuable opportunity for musical growth, collaboration, and artistic exchange.
We extend our sincere thanks to the ISU voice faculty and students for their warm welcome and inspiring collaboration. We would also like to thank RTHS alumni and former midnight voices singers Julia Livingston and Abigail Fox for showing us around campus!

Rochelle Township High School is taking aim at food insecurity with a schoolwide food drive and dodgeball tournament to support local families.
📅 Food Drive: Nov. 17–21
Bring nonperishable items by class to the LMC (Freshmen–Breakfast, Sophomores–Lunch, Juniors–Dinner, Seniors–Snacks). Cash donations count too! Winning class gets bragging rights, early release, and picks which admin dresses as a 🦃at the Dodgeball game!
