CONGRATULATIONS to Laila Vazquez for receiving the Rochelle Rotary Service Above Self Award for September. Laila, a junior, has already recorded 434 community service volunteer hours during her 3 years at RTHS. She has been a HUB project volunteer, worked concessions at the REC center, participated in Make a Difference Day, helped at the 2 Ton Holiday Food Drive Box distribution and served at the CAN dinner in addition to helping at St. Patrick's Fish fry and Religious Education program. This summer she spent dozens of hours helping out at the Little League concession stand. Laila is also a member of the Student Council and Band. She is a great leader and helps out friends and neighbors whenever she is needed. Her counselor, Mr. Pointer, mentioned that she is a very respectful and positive person who likes to challenge herself in and out of the classroom. Thank you for being a great leader and positive role model here at RTHS Laila!

Such a fun and busy week here in Hubland! The Counseling Staff held Renaissance Study Hall Release today. Renaissance card holders were able to join in on the fun, games and snacks during their Study Hall or lunch period today. Freshmen also got the chance to experience this perk of being a Renaissance card recipient.

This week's Hub Award winner is Ali Ohlinger. She has always been a big part of RTHS, but she has recently stepped up to get some really neat things done for Interact - like helping to create the winning Homecoming banner! We appreciate all Ali does for RTHS, and how she helps RTHS be a better place.

Happy Toga Day, seniors!
