Wheatland Tube in Rochelle, a division of Zekelman Industries, hosted a group of RTHS students for a tour of their facility on Wednesday, January 31st. The students had the opportunity to learn more about the manufacturing industry and see their state of the art facility in action. The Wheatland team treated our RTHS group to a tour, lunch and Q &A session, and even a goodie bag! Thank you, Wheatland Tube team, for your partnership with RTHS. We had a great visit and the students walked away with a lot of great information and a vision of what modern manufacturing looks like.
Congratulations to this week's Hub Award winner, Dylan Etes. As one teacher stated: "[Dylan] constantly goes out of her way to help her peers if they have questions. She is patient and kind when working with every student. Dylan is the perfect example to use when explaining what it means to be a Hub."

The American Legion's 2024 AMERICANISM Essay Contest is underway! This year's topic is "WHY AM I PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN?" Cash prizes and scholarships ranging from $100 to $1200 are available. Thankfully, the driver, bus aide, and one student all were able to evacuate the bus immediately and without any injuries
