Honors Physics joined students from Byron and Stillman Valley at Fermi Lab. Students toured the lab. Along with touring the lab the students had a question and answer session with Don Lincoln. Don has been at Fermi since the 1980s. He spoke of his research and answered a wide range of questions from the students. While on the tour students saw a model of the particle accelerator, the control room of the whole facility, and the neutrino study center. Check out Don Lincoln on YouTube to see some of the things these students learned about.

RTHS final exam schedule for grades 9-11

A group of 11 RTHS seniors interested in the Health Care Field had to the opportunity to visit Rochelle Community Hospital yesterday. Students toured the hospital and heard presentations from many different departments including Respiratory Care, Cardio Rehab, HIM, Material Management, Lab, Radiology, Surgery, Medical/Surgical and Dietary. RCH employees did a wonderful job of giving our RTHS students a glimpse into the world of health care and the career pathways available in a hospital. RTHS Human Anatomy & Physiology II students had the opportunity to travel to downtown Chicago and explore the Human Cadaver Lab at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. They were able to see, learn about, and hold human hearts, brains, livers, lungs, and kidneys. They were also able to have a Q&A session with 3 different Med School students.
Each student that was selected to attend went through an application process, which prompted them to write an essay about their futures in the field of medicine, science history at RTHS, and why they believed this trip would benefit their future plans!

Weather in the 70s (plus little wind) means it was finally time for Home & Workplace Maintenance to take the drones outside! This week, weather pending, they will complete a scavenger hunt around the school, obstacle course, and then take some promo pictures of our beautiful campus!
Stay tuned to vote on your favorite RTHS images later this week, or next week!
