This week's Hub Award winner is Xitlali Brizuela. We can't thank Xitlali enough for the example she sets in the classroom. She is always engaged, carrying on high-level classroom discussions, and being kind to her fellow classmates. She is truly a role model for every class that she is in. We greatly appreciate all Xitlali does for RTHS.

RTHS would like to congratulate sophomore Taylor Rogers for receiving the Rochelle Rotary Service Above Self Award for December. Taylor has already recorded 399 Silver Service community volunteer hours at RTHS! She has been a Hope Chest volunteer, worked concessions at the RTHS Sectional Speech meet, participated in Make a Difference Day, helped at the 2 Ton Holiday Food Drive Box distribution, and has spent many hours as a Library Assistant at the Rochelle Public Library. Taylor is also a member of the RTHS Student Council and was the Cross Country manager this fall. Her teachers fully endorse her for this honor saying she is, “highly motivated, responsible and focused. She strives to be successful academically and pushes herself to be her best.” Keep up the great work Taylor! We can’t wait to see what the rest of your high school years, and beyond, have in store for you. Taylor received a full scholarship to participate in RYLA, Rotary Youth Leadership Academy, held in Oregon in May. Pictured in group photo left to right: Staci Harvey (RTHS Career Coordinator), Colfay Pointer (RTHS Counselor), Jen Hardin (Focus House, Rochelle Rotary Board), Taylor Rogers (recipient), Sarah Flanagan (Rochelle Library and Rotary secretary), and Dr. Chris Lewis (RTHS Principal).
