
The RTHS math department would like to wish everyone a happy belated Pi Day! Various math clases celebrated Pi Day (March 14th) this week with circular foods, discovery activities, trivia, and art projects! Pi Day songs were sang, digits of pi were memorized, pi puns were shared, a lot of food was consumed, and tons of pi day fun was had!











Physics students studying conservation of energy. They built mouse trap cars then collected data to find the energy stored in the traps.

NIU Engineering will be holding an Open House on Saturday, April 13. Starting at 9am, students will rotate to labs in each of their six departments and well as hear from department chairs, talking to Admissions and Advising. The event is free and registration can be found at:

May 3rd, Friday, from 11-3pm is the annual Senior Design Showcase. Open and free to the general public, graduating NIU seniors put on display the projects they have been working on all year. Student teams are on hand to discuss and answer questions related to the over 50 unique projects. The award winning Engineering competition teams will also be on display.

Yesterday, our RTHS Juniors and Seniors had the opportunity to attend the 2024 Career and Hiring Expo here at RTHS. Students were able to enter a raffle to win cash prizes. Congratulations to Denia Rincon, our junior winner, and Kashmere Harris, our senior winner who each won $100! A BIG Thank You to Mayor Bearrows and Rochelle Economic Development for donating these cash prizes and supporting our students!


Kishwaukee College's Financial Aid Office will be hosting FAFSA Workshops this spring semester. Check out the flyers for dates and more info if you are in need of assistance. Workshops will be offered in English and Spanish.



Congratulations to Julia Livingston who was awarded the Rotary Student of the Month. Julia is a junior at RTHS who is involved in extracurricular activities at school such as band, cheerleading, Madrigals and is also a National Honor Society member. Along with her busy extra curricular schedule, she has managed to spend over 40 hours as a math tutor here at school for students needing extra help. She also volunteered for Make a difference Day where she worked in the community. She recently volunteered her time at the REC Center when they were in need of help in their concession stand. In the past, Julia has also helped the Flagg Township Library with their Summer Reading program and volunteered as a Bible School helper. Today, Julia was presented with a gift card to a local business, a certificate and a pin from the Rochelle Rotary Club.


Tis the season for the annual Bacteria Scavenger Hunt at RTHS! Mr. Smith's Biology classes took samples from around the school in search of those pesky microbes!

Hire great people - Build a community for the future. The Rochelle Township High School (RTHS) Career Fair and Public Hiring Expo will be held tomorrow, March 7, 2024 in the Blue Gym at Rochelle Township High School (RTHS), 1401 Flagg Road. The Public Hiring Expo from noon-2pm will allow over 35 local employers to recruit and hire for emerging jobs in the Rochelle area.
This is a great opportunity right here in our area.


TOMORROW IS THE DAY!!! The ROCHELLE SPRING HIRING EXPO is tomorrow, March 7th. RTHS Juniors and Seniors will meet prospective employers and learn about career paths while experiencing a hiring event from 10:30 -11:30.
From 12-2 pm, the Expo will be open to the public for area job-seekers to meet with many employers with current openings. This event will take place in the Auxiliary Gym at RTHS. Hope to see you there!
