He emphasized the importance of choosing the right friends—ladder friends who build you up, rather than shovel friends who support poor decisions. Landon highlighted how choices like vaping or spending time with the wrong crowd can significantly shape one's path. Rochelle Middle School is Awesome! No Bones About It! Awesome teamwork with our Hub students and staff in making this years hay bale.

The increasing use of screens can impact middle schoolers' attention spans and cognitive development, often leading to challenges with focus and critical thinking. To foster a love for reading and counterbalance screen time, we encourage students to participate in the Accelerated Reader (AR) program. Through AR, students take quizzes after finishing a book, and those who achieve 80% or higher earn raffle tickets. At the end of each month, three names are picked from each grade level for exciting prizes! Encourage your child to read after school and during downtime to boost their literacy skills and academic success. Here are our winners for the month of September!! ---------------------------------------------------------------- El uso cada vez mayor de pantallas puede afectar la capacidad de atención y el desarrollo cognitivo de los estudiantes de secundaria, lo que a menudo genera desafíos con la concentración y el pensamiento crítico. Para fomentar el amor por la lectura y contrarrestar el tiempo frente a la pantalla, animamos a los estudiantes a participar en el programa Accelerated Reader (AR). Rochelle Middle School will be celebrating Unity week October 15th-18th! Unity week is where we celebrate and promote kindess, acceptance and inclusion within our school. This helps our effort in our month long Advisory lessons on antibullying, diversity, promoting kindness and empathy to create a safe and supportive school environment. A HUGE thank you to Bizar Entertainment for coming to Rochelle Middle School today! Nook, the incredible DJ who has opened for stars like Snoop Dogg and Bruno Mars, brought the beats and got everyone dancing. Wes, who you've seen on American Ninja Warrior, shared his journey of resilience and strength. And Jeff Bizar, a black belt in karate who faced bullying as a kid, inspired us all with his powerful message. Their stories about facing challenges, the importance of teamwork, and not being afraid to ask for help truly resonated with our students. The whole student body was laughing, dancing, and having a blast! We are so grateful for the positivity and energy they brought to our school, reminding us all of the power of resilience, anti-bullying, and the golden rule.
