Rochelle Middle School welcomed visitors from the community and other local areas to share what they do within their careers including fine arts, education, healthcare, and the military. We appreciate them taking the time out of their day to share their passion. Rochelle Community Consolidated District #231 is proud to announce that Rochelle Middle School Science Teacher, Ms. Kathy Prestegaard, has been recognized as the recipient of the Illinois Principal Association (IPA)’s “Teacher Leadership Award” for the state's Northwest Region. Ms. Prestegaard has been a teacher in Rochelle for the past eighteen years at R.M.S. She has taught various levels throughout her career and is a leader in the science department. Ms. Prestegaard is always willing to help with sporting events and leads the mentoring program for new teachers in addition to her classroom teaching duties. ------------------------------------------------------------- El Distrito Consolidado Comunitario #231 de Rochelle se enorgullece de anunciar que la maestra de ciencias de la escuela secundaria Rochelle, la Sra. This morning, Mrs. Smith accompanied two of our 8th grade students, Trinity Jones and Nathan Rosas at the Illinois Principal Association brunch to honor their leadership qualities. Trinity is always willing to help out and often without being asked.  She is positive, looks out for others, is involved with various school teams and activities representing RMS proudly, and is confident enough in herself to lead by example.   In class, she always strives to set a great example, and she is hard-working. Nathan leads by example and is involved with RMS Reading Buddies. He serves as a role model not only for his RMS peers, but as part of Reading Buddies, he has displayed those same traits in the Lincoln classroom he helps in.  He regularly stands up for what is right, and by doing so, sets a strong example for others to follow. His quiet leadership qualities so often seem to go unnoticed when, in fact, we are aware and thankful for his actions. Esta mañana, la Sra. Smith acompañó a dos de nuestros estudiantes de octavo grado, Trinity Jones y Nathan Rosas, en el brunch de la Asociación de Directores de Illinois para honrar sus cualidades de liderazgo. The gift cards for the PTO gift card fundraiser have arrived! They are in the office at the building where your order and money were turned in. Parents will be required to sign for them in order to pick them up. Gift cards will not be sent home with students. Please reach out to your school's secretary to make arrangements for picking these up. Through coordination with 8th grade staff and RTHS our 8th graders were able to travel to the high school to view the solar eclipse. The 7th and 8th grade band and choir performed tonight for their RMS spring concert. Thank you, Mr. Madere and Mrs. Wendling, for leading these stellar performances! The students and staff of Tilton school will be going to RTHS on March 21st at 9:00 to attend a music concert. Earlier this week Ms. Andrew and several students attended a creative filled day at NIU for the annual NCJC Art Conference. Students participated in 3 workshops led by local artists including needle felting, silk screen printing, painting, cartooning, and more! —----- A principios de esta semana la Sra.Andrew y varios estudiantes asistieron a un Día lleno de creatividad en NIU para la Conferencia de Arte anual NCJC. ¡Los estudiantes participaron en 3 talleres dirigidos por artistas locales que incluyeron fieltrado, serigrafía, pintura, dibujos animados y más!

Students receive positive referrals from R.M.S. staff for going above and beyond academically and behaviorally. There were over 300 positive referrals given to our students for the second trimester! Today, students who received positive referrals were added into a drawing for an R.M.S. t-shirt. Here are our winners! Rochelle Township High School is going to be auctioning off some old equipment and supplies online through the Rochelle Schools website. The auction site will be open from Friday, March 1, 2024 at 8:00am through Friday, March 8, 2024 at 3:00pm. Once the auction is complete, bids will be tabulated and winners will be notified on Monday, March 11, 2024.
